Arash Lahouti's 'Orange Days' to vie in Germany

Iran feature 'Orange Days' is to be screened at the Mennheim-Heidelberg Int'l Film Festival in Germany.

Iranian feature 'Orange Days' has been selected to be screened at the 2018 Mannheim-Heidelberg International Film Festival in Germany.

Directed by Arash Lahouti, the film will attend the International Newcomer Competition section of the festival. It is set to compete with 15 other works from around the world.

'Orange Days' tells the story of Aban, the only female contractor in the cutthroat and male-dominated orange harvesting industry, who enters a competition to win a large contract. She wins the deal putting her own house at risk by using it as security.

Now, she leads a group of female workers who work for her on a large harvest. Her efforts of staying strong in this patriarch society remain futile while anyone involved in her story including her husband tries to fail her.

A number of Iranian superstars are among the cast members of the flick, including Hediyeh Tehrani, Ali Mosaffa and Mehran Ahmadi.

The film has already attended a number of international film events such as the 2018 edition of the Zurich Film Festival in Switzerland.

The annual Mannheim-Heidelberg International Film Festival has been a forum for the art of cinema. During the history of the festival, debut films of now-famous directors have been first introduced to an international audience.

The latest edition of the German festival is slated for November 15-25, 2018.
